Individual Tax Deadline Notice – We Are Still Working Overtime

Less than one month ahead of the traditional tax deadline, the IRS has extended the due date for filing and paying tax due for 2020 Individual income tax returns. The new deadline is May 17, 2021. The delay follows continued disruption from the pandemic, and changes made to the 2020 tax rules as recent as March 2021.  States are also adjusting their due dates; but not all consistently. Pennsylvania and Local returns are also extended to May 17, 2021

The delayed filing deadline does not apply to 2021 estimated tax payments that are due on April 15th.

We are working diligently to prepare your tax return. Due to the last-minute changes in tax law, time required for software updates, and resources spent on disaster funding assistance, we may not be in touch with you before April 15th.

The deadline for 2020 contributions to IRAs and Roth IRAs, Health Savings Accounts, and Coverdell education savings accounts has also been extended to May 17, 2021.

If you have any questions about how this may affect our normal course of business, your returns, or any other matters, do not hesitate to contact us.
